Is it safe to trust a firm like 8ration with smart contract development or should I stick to specialized agencies?

I have been doing some vetting for a new blockchain project and 8ration came up on my list. They claim to handle smart contract development but I am always very hesitant to use a general dev shop for crypto stuff. Has anyone here hired them for blockchain work before?
