Launching a Creator Agency. Advice?
Post original
The biggest change Iâd flag is that the job stops being âdo influencer marketing wellâ and becomes âmake the business itself work.â That sounds obvious, but it hit me later than I wish it had. When youâre on the brand/agency side, a lot of your identity is tied to getting the job done: good campaign, clean negotiation, smart pricing, solid execution. Once itâs your own business, finishing the work is only one piece. You start caring more about whether the machine is healthy: pipeline, cash flow, margin, repeatability, client quality, creator expectations, ops, and whether the whole thing can survive without you manually forcing every deal across the line. The mental load is different too. You donât wake up thinking âhow do I finish this task?â You wake up thinking âhow do I keep this business running, and what breaks first if I donât fix it?â That has been the biggest change and challenge for me since starting my own startup. So my advice would be: build the operating system early. CRM, payment process, deal status, creator expectations, contract review, follow-up cadence, reporting templates. Not because tools solve the business, but because without them youâll become the bottleneck fast.
