We built a natural-language data workspace after getting tired of repetitive SQL
Post original
Over the past few months, our team found ourselves spending more time connecting data sources, writing repetitive SQL queries, and jumping between tools than actually generating insights. The experience felt surprisingly fragmented. Even answering simple business questions often required multiple steps, context switching, and manual validation. As a side project, we started building a workspace designed to simplify that process by bringing data connections and natural-language querying into a single experience. A few things we've learned while building it: • Generating queries isn't the hardest problem anymore—building trust in the results is • Data discovery often takes longer than the analysis itself • Non-technical users want transparency, not just AI-generated answers • Integrations and data access are frequently bigger bottlenecks than reporting We're still actively building and learning, but the process has given us a new appreciation for the challenges modern data teams face. For those working with analytics, BI, data engineering, or reporting: what's the most frustrating or time-consuming part of your workflow today? If anyone wants to try it, I'll share the link in the comments submitted by /u/SeveralSelection2138 [link] [comments]
