been building in public for a few months now and one thing i keep thinking about is how completely different the discovery layer feels compared to even two years ago. i used to think about SEO as the main way people would find what i'm building. now i'm noticing that a lot of my target audience is just asking chatgpt or perplexity directly and never touching google at all. and the sources that get pulled into those answers aren't always the obvious ones. so i've been trying to understand the actual mechanics behind it. like what makes a source credible enough to get cited by AI search consistently. i've been adjusting how i write about what i'm building, how i structure information, how i talk about the problem i'm solving. some of it feels like it's helping but it's hard to measure cleanly. hasn't been a straight line at all. more like a lot of small bets and trying to pay attention to what shifts. curious if anyone else building right now is thinking about this or if most people are still treating it as a secondary thing. would love to compare notes on what's actually moving the needle for others.   submitted by   /u/McallanLopes_64 [link]   [comments]
