Regarding the homomorphic computing, that is where I suspect the math is permanently against us. I think it is proven that it will always be less efficient than computing unencrypted, but there is reason to believe that smart algorithms can be selective in what needs to be handled that way. As for #2, yes we have truly untraceable crypto, but few people seem to understand how fundamental that is. The internet is a material thing that costs money and if you can deny certain transactions then you can deny certain speech or the access to it.
