Day 2 of distributing Smriti — a temporal memory API I've been building for AI agents
Post original
Sounds like the parallel chains with agent provenance per event is the right call. The merged chain approach loses exactly the information you need for debugging. On my side, my original Smriti was a knowledge compilation layer for personal data set that includes Obsidian vaults, local files, years of accumulated notes spanning multi GBs. The problem I kept hitting was that RAG based systems were retrieving what you wrote, not what you know. Same note written three different ways across almost two decades, contradictions never resolved, terminology drift you don't even notice. What I'm building now is called Elicana, elicana.ai if you want to take a look. Different corpus, different job, yours is agent event sequences, mine is human knowledge over time, but seems like the same underlying bet on structure before retrieval. Curious to compare notes properly. DM open if you want to go deeper.
