This is just an early morning post, just a knowledge dump/rant from the back of my mind. I'm just putting out the thoughts that are coming to my mind. I've read somewhere that the earliest way of advertising was print media, advertising using newspapers, flyers, and other stuff. As we moved forward we went to the audio segment, where we advertised using radio, FM etc, and then we moved towards video. I think this is the one that is still continuing in various different forms, either through TV ads and then at this point influencers, creators, and in video collaborations etc. If I'm trying to onboard a particular set of users onto my app, I am sure, because when I did a focus test with a focus set of users, they found the app very useful, and even when I think of the first principles, that is very beneficial for someone who is completely new and does not know their way around. It's been 2 months since I joined my company and I am still not able to figure out the marketing of this, so I just want you to help me understand: what do I do from here? I've tried a lot of low budget alternatives, tried UGC videos and posted them on Instagram, hoping they would go viral, tried Reddit ads, but haven't found a scalable source of lead gen or attracting users. We are right now primarily divided into two regions: our country and the rest of the world. In our country the influencer marketing is working very well because it's fairly cheap and there is a lot of low friction for people to trust something, and we have a higher trust factor in our country obviously. When it comes to outside, that does become difficult and I'd like some source of help. Also this isn't about pilot tests anymore. I'm looking at that from a completely scale perspective. Because the tests are done and we know there is a PMF, it's just that we are trying to scale to the world, and it isn't happening. I'm Genz but I'm not able to think of marketing experiments to attract genz users.
