How much does a career gap matter to an early-stage startup? I will not promote
Post original
I'd love to hear how you think about career gaps, especially in early-stage startups where every hire has a significant impact. If you came across an engineer who had the technical skills you were looking for, communicated well, and demonstrated their ability through projects and interviews, but had a noticeable career gap, how would that factor into your hiring decision? Would the gap itself concern you, or would you focus more on understanding what they did during that time? If you've hired someone with a career gap before (or decided not to), what influenced your decision? I'm interested in hearing from founders who have actually made hiring decisions rather than hypothetical or ideal answers. submitted by /u/Money-Net-3225 [link] [comments]
